Help with tomato stain!

We have a light blue baby bean bag and it's now got a lovely big tomato sauce stain on the blue fabric following an accident last night with the arm of the sofa, my elbow and a flying plate
The stain is enormous and really obvious.
I soaked it in vanish oxy action gold powder and then washed at it 30 degrees as per the instructions, with a scoop of vanish in the wash, but the stain is still there
I haven't tumble dried it.
Help! It looks terrible and I'm afraid to wash it at a higher temperature in case it shrinks (it's cotton) and pulls itself out of shape. There must be something I can do with it?

Have you got any Bio tex?
It gently removes ground in dirt and is bleach free.
A white powder you can add a bit of water to and scrub.
I used it on a big stain on a fabric covered chair laast night. air dried and the stain has come out.
Good luckThe secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
I will get some! Would I just get it in Tesco or other supermarkets?0

Yes, Tesco, wilko and the likes.
Pale green box. 500g. A which best buy in 2008.
Good for soaking, hand wash or machine.
Or do what I did - put some of the white powder in a bowl with some water and hand scrub the chair.
My stain has def. gone. I aired the chair over night and all is :jThe secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

Try putting it outside on the line - fresh cold air seems to has a good effect on tomato based stains in my experience.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

I agree with this. I used to put all my baby bibs and vests that always seemed to get the brunt of it on the line (sometimes for a few days so may need to rewash). You need to make sure the stain is exposed to the light. They always used to completely disappear.0 -
Just an update - I couldn't get hold of any biotex so I soaked it in Napisan which took more of the stain out, then hung it out on the line all day yesterday and the stain is totally gone! Not a trace of it left. So happy0
