I've been getting harassing phone calls, and wondered if anyone knows if virgin media have the power to 'block' certain numbers from calling my landline?
I don't really want to change my number tho...
Does anyone know?

From their website. I quote.
"Malicious calls
A call containing obscene suggestions, personal threats or abusive language.
How can I stop them?
Our Nuisance Call Bureau (NCB) will help and guide you, if you have been a victim of a nuisance and/or malicious phone call. Just call our free phone number and ask for the NCB on 0800 953 3333.
Note: It may be a criminal offence, under section 43 of the Telecommunications Act 1984, to make a malicious call."0 -
Did you have any luck ? They've told me they can't block the number . I have the phone no of the caller , but it's pay as you go mobile so they can't identify the caller .
I'm trying to discover which phone company gives the best protection .
It looks as though it is BT but they want £129 to reconnect and £10 a month to block a caller .
Naturally , the police are unlikely to be able to help to help - data protection ; human rights ; cost ; manpower ...0 -

Could you not just change your phone number? That's usually free. Sounds like less hassle than changing provider.Sigless0 -

You can reconnect to BT at the moment for £29.99. Their Choose to Refuse service is not £10 per month, it is in the region of £3.35. This equates to around £10 per quarter.0 -
