Stolen Tools On ebay

Hello
I had my van broken into in November of last year and some power tools taken.
I notified the Police and did not really think they would do anything so I kept a eye out myself on ebay as has been suggested on this site.
Anyway I found one of my drills that had been sold about a week after the theft by searching the completed listings (It was only on for about 2 hours with a very low BIN price)
Had a look at some of his completed items and he had sold lots of other power tools but none of mine were in the search.
So let the police know who still did nothing but I kept a eye on the seller , and at the start of January someone left him feedback for another one of my drills that was sold around the same time.
Just wondering why only one of them shows up in his completed items search as they were both sold about the same time and would not have found the other one if the buyer had not left feedback?
Would be interested to see if he sold the other 2 things , Is there a way he can delete his completed items before the 90 day or so search time?

I think the completed item search is less than 90 days, possibly 30. You can try searching using Google cached searches.
Get back in touch with the police, if they're not willing to help, write to your local Chief Constable with complaint and full details. We had a van and contents stolen not long ago, the police sent me a letter that they had concluded their investigations, 24 hours later. Stolen goods aren't sexy enough for the police to do much about..0 -
Yes the police know all of this , I seem to be getting fobbed off with answers at the moment as I keep hassling them to whats going on.
With regarding the search of his completed listings I can see the things that were sold a couple of weeks before my items so not sure why that search only displays one of them and I can only find the other via his feedback0 -

I've had similar.. they just give you a crime number and tell you to !!!!!! off..
To be fair they are far too stretched.. if they actually investigated crime they wouldn't have time to sit on their bums in a camera waggon....

It did'nt even go on their system untill a week after I had reported due to some sort of problem , I never expected them to look for them but thought I may have had a slim chance of getting something back as I had found them on ebay.
They still have not managed to get in touch with ebay over 2 and a half months after I found them sold on there , reported it to them and gave them the print off from the order with seller , buyer , item number , and sellers phone number!!!
I have long given up hope of getting anything back now.
But still wondering why when searching the sellers completed items it shows things he sold at the start of November one of my drills in mid November but not the other one which was sold 2 days before that I only found via his feedback?
Can you delete the things you have sold on ebay so people cannot see them in your completed items?0 -
Look at his listings and buy the cheapest thing possible. Set up a new account / use different address etc.
Then you might find out where the scum bag lives when you pay for it etc
I havent thought it through but I'm sure you can get some builder buddies / heavies to pay him a vist0
