Debt collection agency?

If you havent signed an agreement it cannot be legally enforced but i wrote to great universal asking them for a copy of my credit agreement which they didnt send me, i know i didnt sign one, instead they sent the debt onto a debt collection agency. My debt with them is about £319 which i inted to try for a 50% full and final settlement figure very soon considering debt collection agencys can buy the debt for as little as 20%kim03 wrote:I've been told that with Littlewoods as i don't have a signed agreement then i don't have to pay them, but i have said this in a letter and they just said it's getting transferred to a debt agency, so i'd still have to pay them..I'll wait until i get the letter from the debt agency. As they wouldn't know about my other debts then all they will know about is my £700 with Littlewoods and like you say they wouldn't add thousands to a debt..
But yes i will call the CCCS tomorrow in the meantime

Thanks i'll try that then as well, we can only try i guess..In the meantime i've wrote to littlewoods asking them for my signed copy (don't have one) and i've said if there is no signed copy then as the debt cannot be inforced the debt should be written off..I don't hold out much hope though..
If that debt cannot be enforced by debtors then how comes debt collection agencies can enforce them??????0 -
good question kimI ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Hmm this debt collection agency that is handling my Littlewoods debt..I have an idea..will it work?
When i receive their letter i'm planning on saying i'm not paying it due to me not signing an agreement with Littlewoods which will force the agency to seek a CCJ against me. Now i'm planning to say in my letter that i'm not paying due to me having debts in excess of more then £7000, i'm hoping that this will deter the agency to charging me thousands to increase my debt over the £5000 limit for an admin order..
Worth a try innit
..LOl anythings possible..I forgot to phone the CCCs but i will tomorrow, i don't want to do it while kids are here.. 0
