Debt collection agency?

kim, look into ADMINISTRATION ORDERS. you have to apply to the court to take on your debts.
They contact creditors, who must agree, but they have to have a very good reason to refuse, so they generally do.
The court asks you what you can pay, typically around £20-£50 per month.
They then distribute funds to creditors.
Creditors are unable to contact you for money or incur charges or they could be charged withharassment.
You will have a yearly review, and after about 3 years, if you've stuck with it, the remainder is usually wiped.
Of course this may not be suitable for everyone, but it's gotta be worth a look.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Really? Well i'll do that instead then, i'd rather the court sort it out then collection agencies..:) Er how do i apply?0

Now that I'm not too sure of. Give the court a call, or the cab. I believe it's simply a matter of filling in forms and listing debts.
I also believe the procedure is pretty fast.
Or try Google, as it's the weekend, and you have to wait till Monday.
I hope you can get it sorted.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

If you have any ccj against you you can go into the county court and pick up an admin. order pack and as long as the total debt is less than £5000 you can apply.
I would contact the CAB who can help write to creditors and set up an 'arrangement' with but I believe this is not stictly an legal admistrstion order.0 -

Thanks it says this..To be able to apply you must have at least one County Court (or High Court) Judgement issued against;
At least 2 creditors; and
Your total debt must be less than £5,000
I have more then 2 creditors and my debt is under £5000 but i don't have a CCJ
Can i still apply? 0 -
Thanks Sweet Caroline..i'll be setting off to the court on Monday to talk to an advisor about getting it set up, hopefully i can still get one even though i don't have a CCJ :beer:0

kim03 wrote:Oh no i will never get into this sort of trouble again. Hmm my debt altogether comes to about £3500. Is there a way where i can have all my debt built into one to make my repayments cheaper? As at the mo my repayments come to £105 per month
I would like to just pay one single payment rather then lots of different ones..
If you go through either
https://www.cccs.co.uk
or
https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk
you can do a debt management plan with them which means you can give them the £105 a month and they will distribute it amongst all your creditors for you. Its much easier than you having to send say £10 here and £20 there. Where i'm concerned i get confused easily and would get mixed up with who gets what

My debt is approx 34k. CCCS told me i could do this through the courts as the money i origonaly had to pay off my debt would of meant me paying for at least 30 - 40 years. I dont have any ccj's at the mo. The other oprion was to file for bankrupcy. My son is paying the debt for me untill i get paid as i have gone back into working full time after being registered sick and disabled.Iona_Penny wrote:If you have any ccj against you you can go into the county court and pick up an admin. order pack and as long as the total debt is less than £5000 you can apply.

Hi TiS Was fairly sure of info. relating to a legal admin. order but admittedly not 110% sure , so it may be worthwhile to try this route kim03.
My only query would be that as you have no ccj against you at the moment does an admin order show up on your credit file? I dont know, maybe someone does and maybe that is not the most important thing to you at the moment but your debt IS relatively small (although not to you ) and I wonder if you got a voluntary arangement with help of the cccs you would save yourself the cost of an admin order. Just trying to think all options thats all.0
