Some time ago we were sold this ID protection at our bank. I don't think we need this, as we should be protected from ID fraud through our bank, I am sure. We were really mis sold this. I have searched on the Internet and found that Privacy Guard is a company? Anyone out there heard of this policy sold at banks? and also. Can I claim money back as I think we were mis sold this,it costs £6 a month!

So, if someone steals your ID and gets mobile contracts with expensive phones on your name, is your bank supposed to protect you?trollheimen55 wrote: »...we should be protected from ID fraud through our bank, ...
Some credit card providers do offer free ID fraud protection - as a perk.
It's a different question if this 'protection' is worth paying for.

I have looked on our Internet Banking and cannot find out any details about Privacy Guard. We were led to believe it was the banks. I am sure we have never received any policy documents .0

Privacy guard was certainly sold by LloydsTsB a few years back.
I second what grumbler said - it was a choice thing for you to buy like any other insurance.0 -

Normally the customer researches the company/product and then decides whether to buy. If you've done things the other way round, possibly it's a case of mis-buying but not mis-selling.0
