Phone call claiming to be from Lloyds TSB re previous PPI claim

Received a call from someone claiming to be looking at previous PPI claims to see if the bank had made the right decision. I found the caller to be very aggressive, and also felt the questions she hammered at me felt almost loaded. She kept asking about business loans that were 10 and 11 years ago, and expected me to remember lots of details about them. Also asked about me previous jobs and insurances. I went to the bank today, but can't get an appointment until Monday. Does this sound familiar to anyone, or could this be some sort of scam. It really left me a bit shaken, as I'm sure it wasn't the bank

I think it probably was the bank. Companies are carrying out reviews of previously rejected complaints and there would be no motive for anyone to impersonate them, even if they did have access to your complaint file which only the bank has. Go into your branch and ask them to check it like you have suggested.
To be fair, a complaint about misselling relates to advice and/or info provided at the time of sale, so you are going to get asked about it. Though it was maybe a bit unfair to ambush you with it out of the blue years after the complaint was first dealt with.0 -

That's odd. They wouldn't usually both calling you to check if they had made the right decision on a case that they paid on. Only those they rejected. Let's face it, even if they did think the decision was wrong there's nothing they can do about it now. Did you get a full refund with statutory interest last time out?0

Unlikely - the cases that have been mentioned on this forum have all taken the form of customer being given extra money and a letter from the bank explaining this, never doing further investigations where a claim has already been paid out as miss-sold.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

No. Those media articles were based on false assumptions. A case of 2+2=5.

This is the correct answer. If they've already upheld it and the calculation had been done wrong, they wouldn't bother asking you any further questions about the sale. They would just send a cheque with a "sorry we got it wrong" letter.0 -
I also received phone call from tsb about ppi on my credit card which had being refused. My claim was refused a few year ago but they were looking into the claim. I was sent a letter in 1996 saying I was approved for a card and to sign and sent it back I had never applied for one. I sent it back and received card the following week. I was self employed at time no mention of any insurance I did notice on the payments a charge I thought it was for lost and stolen cards. She asked me lots of questions if I had any savings and how much was in my account how would my business would operate if I would still have wages and how long for . I am still self employed0
