Bid retracted - given a silly reason

I have just had a bid retracted on one of my items. No problem, as it is better that way than have problems later on with no payment, not satisfied etc.
Just looked at the reason given for retraction - "cannot contact the seller". But he has not contacted me to ask me anything!
Does anyone find that messages from buyers are not getting through?
Not too bothered about the retracted bid as there are lots of bidders/watchers but I thought it was a silly reason to give. I expected "wrong amount entered" or something like that.

They have a limited choice of reasons- so they just have to choose something random.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks soolin. Didn't realize that they had to choose from a list. I thought it was what he actually wrote himself.0

It is a list of perhaps 4 things- one is 'entered the wrong amount' one is as chosen by your buyer and I can't recall the other two.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Retraction reasons are:
- You entered wrong amount
- Seller changed the item description
- You couldn't contact the seller
0 - You entered wrong amount
-
eBay should allow more honest options like -:
I changed my mind.
I bid and then I bothered to read the ad afterwards and item isn't actually what I need.
I haven't actually got any money to pay for the item if I win.
etc etc0 -
Better that they retracted the bid rather than won the auction and didn't pay.0
