You can do a full install using an upgrade version, start the install but do not enter your serial number, re-install using your serial number, there are detailed instructions on the internet.
I did that recently having bought Vista Home Edition Edu here.
I am looking to buy vista.
Can I buy the edu version as my girlfriend is in education and will be using the laptop as well?
The link you provided mentions you may be asked to prove you are in education .. Did you? ~ I'm just wondering whether my girlfriend would actually have to buy it or whether I could buy it and use her education info?
Thanks in advanceembarrassed to say I used to work for barclays..sorry0
