Morning all,
had a dentist appointment first thing and ive got gum ache again. Thankfully this was the last appointment for the treatment I needed and I don't need to go again till my next check up in 6 months. Couldn't help but pity the woman who came out before me. She had a tooth out and I thought to myself 'That was me 2 weeks ago'. Still all done now.
Need to do some research on the net today on a medical condition. I am hoping this scratching Millie dog is doing is nothing more than dietary based. Theres a medical condition Cavaliers suffer from and I'm hoping the scratching isn't more sinister. Anyway, the plan is, changing her diet and then another appointment with the vet.
Anyway, I'm getting in a flap about it so change the subject. Youngest has his driving theory test today. He's not confident as he has been too tired to study whilst he has been at work. We will just see how he gets on.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Had intended to spend today recovering five dining room seats for DD but as I only did one of them yesterday and she still has to take it home and check it fits properly I will have to wait till tomorrow.
Made dd a bacon sarnie and tea early this morning as she stayed over and then made DH his breakfast later. Dishwasher is on and sink has been bleached and gas hob cleaned.
Have leftover lamb and veg stew for lunch and then plan to pop out to York and try to get my hair cut and have a look in the sales for a smart neutral jacket that will work with dresses to make an outfit for DD's graduation, meals out etc.
Ordered three dresses yesterday in J**n L***s sale. Prices were originally £149 and are now £29 - dearest I ordered was £40 :j
I may end up only keeping one or at most two but if they "bring me joy" then I have saved both money and a panic in a few months.
I am planning to wait till nearer the time to shop for an outfit for our wedding blessing which looks as if it will be mid April now.
Lost three pounds in the last week but would like to lose the stone (and a little more) I gained in the last few months.
I have been pinning my ears back and eating for England (as a Scot I should know better)
DD made me laugh yesterday when I said I did not want to be a big fat frump and she replied "You are fat but you are not a frump Mum!" She said it so earnestly and was not trying to be unkind bless her. I ended up with tears of laughter and nearly in hiccups.
Hugs to all
Good Luck with the driving theory test for your son Judi"This site is addictive!"

Morning all,
In my PJ's today, no not being lazy it's PJ/Onesie tag day at work today. Only dilemma is I need to get some milk at some point....
Done the housework and due back out again in five mins. Washed my little car too. DS2 was supposed to do it but he only wants to use the power washer thingy and I just chuck a bucket of soapy over it and quickly hose it down. If he uses the pressure thing I'm sure it will end up with lots of holes due to the rust!
Don't know what's for dinner.
Judi - hope your DS passes0 -
Morning all
Pleased to get on so early.....going shopping in a bit to stock up on the things DD2 and her girls will eat....totally different from our normal diet.
Grey day again.....would love to see the sun even it were very cold.
Had some baked monkfish and salad for breakfast, brother passed on the fish as he would not have used it today.....just stuck it in oven for 20 mins last night, seasoned with salt and pepper an lemon slices.....unusual breakfast but was at 10.30 so maybe more of a brunch! Dinner will be spag bol, sauce came out of freezer last night so only pasta to cook.
Ruby, enjoy your weekend, nice to get away.
Judi, hope that Millie's problem is just dietary.
Have a good day all

Good Morning everyone, back from Zebra sitting and hopefully life back to normal for a few weeks. I've just made pasta bake with the bits and pieces left in the fridge and will make some curried parsnip soup when I get the parsnips from the allotment. It's nice to be home and back in routine again, even the ironing seems a pleasure, OK I know I'm sad, but it does!
Cold and grey here this morning but pleasure taken from 4 snowdrop flowers which have popped their heads above the grass on the front lawn under the silver birch tree and the fact that my little survivor of a primrose plant has 5 tight little buds on it which I'm looking forward to seeing open. Spring seems to be slowly but surely starting to happen down here with speedwell, wild celandines and p u s s y willow all open and swelling buds on elder and bramble on the footpaths too. Crocuses and daffs also out in sunny and sheltered gardens which is very nice.
We went to the pub for supper last night and came 4th in the quiz which was not bad as there were just the two of us, brother and his wife had a trip to the cinema planned so couldn't come and we laughed the evening away with a super couple of lads on the next table who are doing a course at the Maritime Institute here in the village, nice evening but was very tired when I finally got to bed.
Hope you all have a lovely day and that something nice happens to each and every one of you to make you smile, Lyn xxx.0 -
Afternoon all
Got home by 2:30 today, made some toast for lunch & now it's time to make a start on some sewing, making costumes for a show.
Hubby has a friend visiting this evening so I'll do some crochet the whilst they natter.
Have a good evening everyone.

Something a bit different earlier - I saw something move in the back garden out of the corner of my eye; looked up, and there was a ruddy great fox strolling around the garden! He went back and forth for a few minutes, and finally found an exit under the back fence. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Another cold grey day here today.
Went to Aldi this morning and picked up a load of their Christmas boxed stuff, all at half price and all dated to 2016, I bought three boxes of each item
I will use some for normal meals, some for Easter and some for Christmas.
Sadly the Turkeys are not being sold off cheaply

Got home OK today, fairly quick trip without any hold-ups.
Staff meeting was as predicted, tedious and pointless! But that was my last one.
Got my woodburner on and a glass of wine poured. Just so glad to be home.
Managed to talk myself out of a parking 'charge' at the university, that made me happy as the bloke was so nice. It's so true that 'behaviour breeds behaviour'.
Got a load of geese cackling in the field outside my living room, hope they move on soon. :rotfl:0 -
It won't be long before I am joining you with the wine! My head is spinning with the 3 DGDs. Tea-time was manic but at least they were happy as I had got my sausage order from DB. They really are lovely sausage made by a butcher in the Dales and the girls think they are the best sausage ever!
All cleared away, DW on and girls sat quietly watching Doc McStuffins! Bed-time for the 4 year old when it finishes, followed by the 6 year old and the eldest would outstay me given the chance!
Teacher training day tomorrow so we have them all day tomorrow too - oh joy!
Have a nice evening folks! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
