O/S Daily Thursday 12th February 2015

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

    Morning everyone

Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x

Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.

Still dark, doesn’t look like we’ve had a frost.l Load in WM.

DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 now up and getting ready for work. Will get DS2 up ready for school shortly.

Dinner last night was spag bol, tonight I’m not sure as I haven’t planned very well, but I’m sure I can organise something. Will try to organise something from stores without spending any more money.

Yesterday once I got in from work had to sort out a buffet for a meeting – should have been relatively simple, but, of course, wasn’t – all sorted now though. Have another admin job to do with the caravan job DH has, will be spending some time on this over the next few days. Did get my normal chores done yesterday after work.

Today I’ll be needing to get washing, drying and ironing done also housework, so it’s going to be a full day. Also need to write a menu and food shopping list for tomorrow.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning All

Dryish here again, not too cold I don't think. I'm not putting the heating on in the morning any more when we are both at work as it is just beginning to get warm and then we leave. I'm always warm anyway when I get up and it will make DD move a little quicker!

Had a baked pot with cheese for tea. Made a big pot of soup for lunches and I had taken mince out of the freezer to make spag bol for my cousins arriving but they are not coming till Friday now so I cooked it anyway and it will be fine in the fridge. Usually find it's better if left, seems to get more flavour.

Still feeling all bunged up from this cold, just taken some tablets so hoping to feel a bit better soon.

Nearly the weekend! Take care. XX
  • Morning all. Another early rising for me but sneaking about quietly as didn't want to wake up the 3 DGDs! It'll be mayhem as usual when I wake them - all wanting a different breakfast and watching kids progs instead of getting dressed etc. Then 3 lots of hair to plait before I throw them out of the door with Mr TA for the school run.

They are back again for tea which I am hoping will be sausage and mash if I get my sausage order off my DB!

Had a lovely day out with friend yesterday. We never stopped talking all day! Picked up a few jewellery bargains off Skipton market but the charity shops let me down this time. Then a lovely lunch in a cosy pub before heading home.

Shopping day today and no list done yet. I think it's only Aldi though and I don't think we need a great deal.

Have a good day all, I think I hear fairy footsteps above me so peace shattered. It'll be the youngest (4) she is always first up. Take care xx

    Morning everyone.

Last day of the working week for me and I'm already gazing at the pile of work on my desk. Got my first cup of tea, breakfast and the radio on.

There's a staff meeting this morning which is always tedious at the best of times. As I'm leaving in five weeks it will be even less interesting for me.

Anyway, hope everyone is feeling better and doing well.

    Good Morning All,

I haven't ventured for a look out the window so i don't know what the weather is doing here yet.

I have a short list of chores today so i am really hoping for a bit of me time today. I am crocheting a blanket so i would like to find some hooky time here and there.

    Have a great day everyone

    regards

  • Good morning all

Thank you nmic for starting today's thread.

Dull and overcast here today but have my second load of washing on so possibly the TD will be on for the towels, the other stuff can go on the airer.

I am a lady that lunches today :) Meeting up with the "girls" and our old boss for lunch and a catch up of everyone's news. I enjoy seeing everyone, but sometimes it is difficult to talk to everyone in turn. Never mind it will be good to see them all.

    Have a good day everyone

  • Aother dull, grey morning here in the East Midlands, looks how I feel.

Off to a coffee morning at U3A maybe I'll feel better when we get back.

Bad night sleep wise after 2am before the eyelids drooped.
  • Good morning all.

Still grey here but doesn't seem as damp as yesterday. Lit the fire last night so still have the residual heat left in the living room.

Am going to look on our local trainline website in a minute as they have a 2for1 ticket offer for some London attractions and I now have a free Saturday so would like to visit St Paul's cathedral.

Other than that I need to get some salad items from the shops and then the ironing will be calling.

    Enjoy your day folks.
  • Good morning all, a grey damp looking day outside today.I am having a 'pottering around' day.No shopping to go out for and only minimal housekeeping to do,just a quick whizz around with the vacuum and a bit of a tidy up.Finish off the rest of the ironing and all should be done by 11 .Then its maybe make some cakes for my DGS.Its my brother's birthday today in France so I will give him a ring later on.I hope he got the card OK.Almost half way through the month already where is the time rushing off to :):)
Hope everyone has a good day and is warm and dry
    Cheers JackieO xxx
