Credit Card application form

My wife's about to apply for her 1st credit card after receiving an "invite" from Barclays bank (she has her own current account there) in the post. It all looks straightforward enough, but near the end of the form there is a section called "card usage" where several options are given, but only one box can be ticked. What answer is the Bank looking for? ie would ticking the "emergency only" box be a bad idea, or would she score high ticking the "large purchases" box instead? presumably, the "balance transfer" box would not be looked-on favourably (potentially flitting from one card to another ?). She's erring toward the "everyday purchases" box, based on the assumption of what credit card Companies/issuers regard as an ideal customer.
Any thoughts on this? She has no previous credit history, although no obvious negatives either as regards time at address, work etc.

There is probably no right or wrong answer. The best answer will be a secret.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

She doesn't have a balance to transfer, does she? So that's not an option.
What does she intend to use it for? Tick the box which best corresponds with the intentions.0
