Late Payment v Missed Payment

After reading some posts on here I was intrested to hear how a late payment compared to a missed payment (default?) on a credit report

I.e. Are late payments reported (I have a couple by 2 - 3 days, but never missed a payment)

I will try and answer you query, if you are a couple of days late this is unlikley to be reported as a late payment on your credit file. It will depend on the company and how quickly they report to the credit reference agency, you would need to miss 2 consecutive payments with some card companies for this to report as 1 missed payment on your credit file.

    Does this help at all?

It depends on the issuer. Halifax One credit card messed up my direct debit which didn't come out because it wasn't set up to start with (despite 2 requests). They called me up about 5 days after the payment had been due - I paid them straightaway with my debit card, they still blasted me on my credit file. It's showing as 1 month in arrears. I'm trying to chase them up for that to get it removed since this was their fault to begin with.
