Removal firms that pack?

When I moved, they packed everything.
The way mine worked was that I paid per box for the packing materials, and then once I had unpacked, I returned the boxes and was refunded. My movers will collect one lot of boxes. if you want to return them in more than one go then you have to deliver the subsequent lots.

his worked really well for me - I still have quite a lot of boxes full of books but all the big stuff was unpacked quickly. Check your quote, as this does mean that what you pay is a bit different that the original quote.

Mine packed all clothes etc - they told me that if there was anything *I* wasn't comfortable with them packing I could do that myself.

mine also put the bedframes etc back together at the other end and would have plumbed the washing machine in had it not been for the fact that the drain pipe was slightly too short.

If I move again i would absolutely pay for the packing to be done, it reduced the stress so much it was unbelieveable!

In my case, they came the day before the move and packed everything except the bed, breakfast stuff and one chair. With hindsight, they could probably have done it all on moving day but it would have been quite stressful so I'm glad we didn't try.

I only moved 15 miles but I think it is more normal to use someone where you are selling, as it is much easier for getting quotes etc.

All this information has been fantastic, but the house we wanted has been withdrawn from the market, I wonder how long our buyer will wait!

When we moved from a 3 bed house from London to Milton Keynes. We used a London based company, Hobbit Removals, they packed the day before and moved us the next day, which is exactly what we required.
They packed the whole house for us, dismantled furniture, disconnected appliances and put them back at the other end, in the new house.
Their only requirement was to pack our jewellery and intimate items ourselves, anything else was handled by them. Hanging clothes were transferred into wardrobe boxes, the rest were packed away. They left the beds, fridge and TV to be packed next morning, on the moving day, so we could carry on with our normal routine.
The staff were very patient, professional and very helpful, despite our nerves as we never moved before. It was a stress free move, so that I used them again this year when I moved again from Milton Keynes about 40 miles away, even though they are a London based company. Nothing got damaged and it just made sense to use them again, as we were very happy with them. And the price really mattered too!! Affordable and professional
