Landlord selling but stopping using agent

Hi,
I am after some advice, particularly legal advice on where I stand in this situation.
My landlord advised he wishes to sell a couple of months back, I have been looking at properties but as it is so cut throat am struggling to get anything yet.
The landlord contacts me direct, which I have had no problem with in the past, as the agency hasn't always been great with sorting out maintenance problems etc.
However I was contacted by the landlord about the estate agent taking some pictures and agreed this would be ok. I am aware that I should be given 2 months notice from the date the rent is paid, so of course I am not going to push for this to happen and have gone along with the landlords wishes so far. I have now been told though that they have given the letting agent 1 months notice that they no longer wish to use them and that I am to pay the landlord direct.
Does anyone know where I would stand legally with this, would I still have to be given 2 months notice or will that not apply as there wont be any contract in place ?
I do hope this is clear, I am a bit stressed out so possibly not making sense.

Your original contract remains in place as this was between you and the Landlord. The agents was just acting as a middleman. Ask the Landlord to put the request in writing along with the bank details for payment.0

Your contract is with the landlord. Whether or not they use, or continue to use, an agent has no impact on your tenancy. All that changes is where you pay your rent. Although if your address for serving notices in your contract is the agent's address then you will need to be given a new one.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
