Electric meter out of date?

If you keep refusing them access to their meter you can be cut off, they could deem the meter unsafe. These contractors for National Grid or the local DNO have probably not been forwarded the correct occupier details. One tip is that if they fail to keep an appointment for the meter exchange you can claim £25 compo. Not uncommon at all to get no shows with themAbout 2 weeks ago an engineer turned up on my door saying he was going to change the meter, right there and then. Needless to say this didn't happen. This is extreme cold-calling!
I've recently got a letter to "The Occupier". It's only good luck that I've opened it, if someone doesn't know who I am, then I generally assume it can't be important.0 -

G4s/EDf wanted to change my meter last October - I took a day off and they didn't turn up so I thought s0d them, i'll just keep my meter as it is.
Do you have a link to the claim form as I can't find one.0 -
This happens randomly from time to time. I moved from economy 7 to single rate and had a brand new meter fitted. Less than 12 months later I get a letter out of the blue telling me to make an appointment to have my meter swapped. I explained to the DNO that it wouldn't be necessary as it had only clocked less than 2000 units and was only 10 months old. I supplied them the serial and model number. They responded telling me that it needed to be changed or they would apply for a warrant to replace it forcefully. The engineer then came and replaced it with an identical meter (the exact same make and model). He agreed with me that it was a complete waste of both our time and company money having to change it.
At the back of my mind I do wonder if my supplier thought I was on the fiddle or suspected that it was a faulty meter as my usage is very low and somehow raised it with the DNO. Why else would they replace a 10 month old meter?0 -
no claim form needed, just a call to your supplier saying you wasted a day waiting and no one turned up or left a card to say they had been and got no replyG4s/EDf wanted to change my meter last October - I took a day off and they didn't turn up so I thought s0d them, i'll just keep my meter as it is.
