Took me a while to figure out why channels etc not scanning, after plugging in and linking to tv tv..
on the remote, press PVR button (at top), point at the set, then OK.
only a hundred or so pages of t/cs! most are the usual disclaimers, important stuff re privacy from about p.70.. you can give/withhold as much info as you feel fit..
anonymous usage info is recorded, for the content suppliers. (whether live, +1 etc..)
