Installing Google Chrome

I have spent all day trying to sort out problems with my desktop, and have been getting error messages from Google Chrome saying that it can't use my profile and to load an updated version
Uninstalled Google Chrome and tried to reinstall using a link approved by McAfee. It crashed half way through and installed Super optimiser instead. I have uninstalled this, but how did I get through on a McAfee approved site ?
Does anyone have a 'safe' link for installing Chrome ?
Got rid of Super Optimiser, but now I search omiga is on there.

This thread Malware and spyware removal thread is a good start for malware removal. Personally I would use both malwarebytes https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ and superantispyware http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html free editions.
As for Chrome, official download link is https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/0 -

Maybe not, lots of helpful knowledgeable people are on here. If you can start with posting what happens when you try to run it, I'm sure you'll get assistance.0 -
My warning flag has come up with the message that I need to turn on my Windows Security a centre service, but then I try to do that it comes up with the message that the Windows Security Centre can't be started

And if that fails, try asking for help at www.bleepingcomputer.com.

They have a section dedicated to identifying and removing malware.0 -
