Sky Ford PPI

Hi All
My first post so hope it finds you well

I've contacted sky ford today as have a number of cars on finance over last 10 years or so
Local dealer put me onto central finance line
- the result as follows:

They advise they cannot look me up by name or address (I do not recall all the registration plates and having moved twice in last 10 years - I cannot find documentation)

The central line said it is down to local dealer to advise if I paid PPI (haven't gone back to them yet but this doesn't sound right)

Sky Ford only go back 6 years - the analyst stopped short but I'm confident she was going to start quote some speil about whether they're obliged to or not

has anyone dealt with sky ford and if so how'd that go?
Isthe above advice accurate?

I have established they use norwich union to underwrite but if I go to them, what information are they going to ask for?

how do I get this to look back further than 6 years? I'm not new to PPI and have already had about £15k back from a couple of banks last year and they had no trouble looking back but sky ford weren't very interested in even giving out any information

appreciate anything anyone has - I did a search on here for sky ford but turned nothing up but i;m sure i'm not the only one ion this position - thanks all:)

If you feel you were miss-sold PPI on finance you have to complain to whoever sold you it - the dealer.

If they are not in operation it would depend if they were independent or part of Ford as to whether you can try Ford.

The analyst is probably correct - Data Protection laws require old data to be deleted when it is no longer relevant (e.g. if your finance is complete) - the general guideline is 6 years after it was finished.

NU have no liability for the sale, you are unlikely to get anywhere with them, you would start with the dealer.

If you have no documentation and they don't then you will be stuffed anyway as you couldn't prove you paid anything

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Anf if it was sold prior to Jan 14th 2005, they can dismiss your complaint.

  • Hi,

Have you had any joy regarding your claim, I'm in the same position.

I don't know where to start as the dealership has closed. My agreement was with Ford Credit.

    the dealership has closed.
Sounds like you've no one to complain to. What year was it?
