Hudl 1 and Windows 7 - device not recognised

For me Hudl 1 will not connect to Win7 on any Win 7 pc.

Support said install MS Media Transfer Protocol Porting Kit - makes no difference - tried this on other PCs...

But the Hudl 1 will connect on Win8.1

Any thoughts.

I've used the free "WiFi File Transfer" app to move files between my Win 7 PC and hudl, but also use Dropbox to move stuff around.
Just tested WiFi File Transfer and the PC connected to the hudl no problem.

Ta. I did try Bluetooth but it was very slow - I'll give the WiFi file transfer app a go.

I can't remember for sure what I did exactly but I bought a Hudle 1 for my grandson Christmas 2013 and had no problems at all copying some stuff over to the SD card from a Win 7 machine.

The fact it's working on Win 8 pretty much excludes any USB settings options on the Hudl itself or a duff port so I'd say it has to be drivers but I think they installed automatically for me.

Do you see any error codes or messages when you plug it in?

When win7 tries to connect it says something like attempting to install software, then fails, then permanently says Device not recognised...

How do I install the Hudl device drivers on my win7 laptop?

    thanks

Thats a sign of no drivers on win 7 as it does not know what a hudl is .

Put Airdroid on your Hudl and you can then wirelessly transfer files both ways - assuming that your PC has wireless of course. You do not need any install anything on the PC, you run through your browser.

I use a USB SD card reader from Poundland to transfer my DVD files etc from XP/Win 7 to SD Card. A no- brainer and no Hudl drivers required. You don't even need to connect the Hudl to your PC, just insert the SD Card into the Hudl and off you go, the files are ready to use. I like to keep it simple - it works :)

    Ta again.
Do you mean a USB SD card reader?

Yes it def works with a USB micro sd card reader, or so far it does - still no way to disconnect properly, shut down is the only option on the Hudl. btw. if the H goes to sleep there's hell to pay when it wakes up - ie. unexpected disconnection etc.

Also I cannot see any Win 7 drivers for the Hudl - But it connects perfectly (than Win 8) and much better using Win XP!
