Hi, This is similar tot he post re NHS pay and I apologise if this has already been answered but I can be a bit think....
Ok, I start mat leave on the 13th of August, I will be getting full pay, after that they take me down to half pay. I was wondering what other monies I am entitled to and who I apply to for this. I plan on going back to work in January, but cant say for sure due to not knowing what kind of baby I will have. on top of mat pay which is half, is there stat on top of that ? Im not trying to get all that I can and being greedy but my partner and I dont earn an awful lot and what we are entitled to would be of great use. This is our first and I havent a clue.... Thanks in advance.

Have you asked your boss or HR person for a full breakdown of what exactly your entitlements are? You should get this in writing I would think.
I think you can assume that your statutory mat pay is included in your "half pay".
You will be entitled to Child benefit and possibly tax credits. These are paid every 4 weeks.
HTHMust learn not to count chickens before they are hatched!!!!:D
Every day is a new challenge not a new problem!:p

Hi
You will be entitled to Child Benefit - £18.10 per week, for your first baby. It's less for any subsequent children you have. Ask your midwife for the form to apply for this. You will have to register the babies birth first, as i think you need to send the birth cert to the Revenue and Customs people along with the form.
As for other tax credits, we are just finding out about these ourselves (our baby is 11 weeks tomorrow, and i have not been very organised). I just called the Revenue and Customs phone number - found on their website, and asked what i would be entitled to. They then sent the relevant forms to us. Now we just have to decipher them :rotfl:
Congrats, and good luck by the way. What's he building in there???
Debt at highest £30,450 (Dec 05)
Debt at lowest £9, 113 (Jul 07)
How much did we over spend whilst on maternity leave :mad:0 -

Child benefit is nothing to do with us - the only certification we provide are Mat B1s at 26 weeks or over.0 -
You can apply online for child benefit when the baby is born:
