aww i love my belly piercing. My mum hates it and i tend not to show it off either as i have lots of lovely stretch marks now care of DD (didnt show it off before either though) i just like it for me Its pretty! So well done you and even bigger well done for the MSE side of you getting a tenner off lol

Mums hate ALL piercings Emmylou! lol.
Mam wrinkles her nose at mine on a regular basis - and every time I mentioned getting a new one she would try to put me off!

To be fair she started it seeing as they took me to get my ears done when I was just a child and I had no input on the matter - just look what they started! lol

Oh Dawnylou - you sound just like my daughter! Mums only say no cos they care and don't want you to do something you'll regret.

My DD is nearly 15 and I let her have her ears pierced at 9. I was okay about that even though I got such grief off my family especially my dad who thinks its mutilation! (I wasn't allowed mine done till I was 16)

Then she had them done again at 11, then her belly at 14 after she nagged me to death (it does look nice though) but she promised me know more after that. BUT two weeks ago she used a needle to pierce her ears twice more on one side and is nagging me again to let her have her lip done.

No, no and no! LOL

I got mine done at 16 (and another 2 times since as it kept coming out!_ i love it and would hate to have to late it out - when i was feeling brave i got my nipple done too!

I got my BB done on a whim too....seeing how fat my belly is I decided that a piercing would make it look more attractive when sprawled out on the beach but despite really looking after it I had to remove it after about 2 weeks as it had gone nasty and I couldn't even turn the steering wheel to drive as it hurt so much! I was soooo upset. I then went and got it done again about a year later as I was detirmined to have a BB piercing. That one lasted for about 6 months and I was delighted but again, it went nasty despite really looking after it. I was totally gutted!

I can only assume I have a allergy to the steel that was used in the bar I might try gold or silver next time....I will have a piercing one day y'know!

I still can't come to terms with my teenage daughter's piercings. She has her ears pierced umpteen times, including the "tragus" and also upper cartilege. She now has a 6mm expander in each ear lobe through which she thinks it's highly amusing to walk around with a biro inserted in each hole. She has her nostrils pierced three times and only against my wishes is holding back on having her septum done. She now has had her "madonna" pierced and has a tongue bar in instead which protrudes clear of her face. Again, she thinks it is funny to pull it in and out of the hole with her tongue.

No piercings elsewhere however. Yet.

She has shaved off her eyebrows and favours a thin arched line under which she can get a lot of eye shadow. Sometimes this looks really good but only when she's going out - otherwise she has no eyebrows drawn in and looks a bit strange.

Sorry guys - I just can't get my head round all this. Will these piercings ever heal when she gets bored? Will the beautifully shaped eyebrows she used to possess ever come back right?

If I thought she would be not be mutilated for ever I think I could cope, but I do feel the expanders etc. are mutilations.

I had my BB pierced as a 21st birthday present to myself. 13 years later and it's still there, haven't regretted it at all, can't imagine not having it now. It's not something that I show off...don't wear cropped tops or anything like that...I did it for myself.
