Could you please explain the importance of haveing the internet saver in joint names for the purpose of using the d/d facilities ?, or does it not matter?.

If you have them in joint names, you can set up DDs for current accounts held by account holder A and account holder B, as well as for your joint current accounts.
This reduces the total number of Tesco savings accounts you need to two.0
