car finance/loan with 2 defaults

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone can advise me whether I'd be likely to get car finance for approx 8k or have been in the same situation. I stupidly defaulted in Jan 2012 and Jan 2014 for £212 and £387 for a catalogue and phone contract and am kicking myself for it now!
I earn 23k a year which is due to rise to 28k in September. Given the small amounts do you think that I would be successful or should I wait until September when the debt to income ratio is smaller?

Are the defaults settled now?
Do you have any other existing debts?
With a recent default you will likely struggle to get accepted with most mainstream lenders, but may well be able to get accepted from somewhere offering relatively expensive credit.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
