Wednesday 11 February - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:money:

Morning everyone
Well yesterday didn't go as planned, but that's ok :-D got offered to go swimming, so took the little one. Quite expensive though, they really should have parent and toddler session, it's not like you get to swim whilst there with a little one. Boyfriend came round, brought a movie. He's taking me out Saturday, but won't tell me where :-D I was a big foggy headed yesterday, didn't realise it was valentines day and thought I forgotten something important haha
List may be very much a repeat of yesterday's, as didn't get much done due to change of plans. Sat here drinking a coffee with milk powder in (always run out of milk morning of weekly shop) so quite made up brought some as better than black coffee yak!

Good Morning!
Thanks for starting us off Ziggy. Jojo enjoy your Valentines DayI think ours is going to consist of a homemade takeaway and a bottle of cheap plonk
Like so many of us, at the moment, I've been feeling a little under the weather the last few days. On the brightside, it's meant I haven't spent anything (shopping feels like too much of a chore). On the flipside, I'm comfort eating.I get lots of exercise, but it's really not helping my diet.
My Watchful Wednesday looks like this...- C25K (a cold is not an excuse)

Breaking the rules and eating in the canteen at work tonight. Our cook asks me every night if I want something and I always decline. Tonight is the last chance she's going to have to feed me for a while, so I promised her that I'd have something.

Double grandma whammy this week, as DGD1 is coming to stay overnight as her parents both have to work tomorrow and there seems to have been an extra TD day sprung on them. She is 12 though, and we don't see much of her as a rule - might take her out somewhere nice

Morning all,
Well, not really my usual bright-eyed & bushy-tailed self this morning, as awoke with such a stonking heachache, have had to resort of codiene. Getting a few bits done, but I know that if I do too much, the headache will just carry on until tomorrow, so am being sensible.
*Did final laundry load for the week overnight. Now drying on heated airer. Too grey & damp outside to dry anything today.
*De-cluttered today's 11 items (one of which has gone into the presents box from whence it will be re-gifted).
*Listed 2 ebay items. Still awaiting an outstanding payment.
*So many Toluna points had been added to my account overnight that I was able to submit another claim for a Sainsbury's giftcard (3rd one this year!) & still had 18,000 points left towards the next one.
*Made packed lunch & work snacks for tomorrow.
*Postie brought us each a John Lewis voucher for a free coffee & cake :-)
*Checked credit card account to ensure £79 refund had appeared. It had. We have really enjoyed our free 30-day trial of a well-known film/TV online package. We had marked on the calendar exactly when to cancel it as had decided not to have a year's subscription at this point when it makes more sense to rebuild savings used last year for new bathroom. We had intended to cancel a day early, but found that the company had already taken the money, so we had to arrange a refund. Had a reply saying that 'as we hadn't used the annual subscription' that we could have our money back.
*Bucket loads of chicken stew for mr f tonight (last of the rubber chicken). I don't fancy it, but this won't involve a naughty little spend, oh no! I will be looking in the freezer to see what I do fancy. I'm thinking one of the spicy chickpea burgers I batch-cooked last month in a home-baked poppyseed bun with a big salad. The thought of that could almost cheer me up.....though I would cheer up BIG TIME if this headache went away, grrrrr.
That's it from grumpy foxgloves today.
f x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 6.5kg/30kg
