help me find correct hp g6 laptop part

hi

I need to find a display/screen cable (cable that goes from motherboard to the screen). might be known as video cable.

its for a hp g6 Sonoma red laptop. model 1196sa

the part no on the cable is worn out and I cant make it out apart from .....lc040 and ....d261

so I ordered R15 g6 1000 screen cable from ebay but it didn't work at all...

can someone find out the exact part number so I can order the screen cable? looking at the g6 online manual its got part numbers for everything apart from the screen cable.

thanks

From what you've described, it sounds like you need this display ribbon cable. Is this what you already bought? If so then it may be something else at fault.

What's the exact issue, does the laptop display just appear dead? It may well be a fault or damage to the display itself. In which case you would need a new screen something like this one. But please check this is correct screen for your laptop, it's only what I quickly found via "HP G6 screens".
  • yes that's what the cable looks like, but I need the correct one and I don't know which one it is as the original cable has the info missing . it ends in lc040...the one you have listed ends in lc000, and the one I bought that doesn't work ends in lc030.

the screen is fine because when you adjust the lid at the correct angle it works fine. but move the screen it then goes blank, or dark grey, or shows lines etc.
  • that's the one I bought (from that person, pcfx)

the cable he sent has lc030 on it aswell as DD0R15lc000

so im returning it back as it doesn't work (the screen doesn't even light up)... on his listing he doesn't say to specify which number i.e lc040, so I assumed this would be compatible as hes put lc040 on the title but the one he sent says lc030 and DD0R15lc000 on the bottom which is confusing.

so I thought if I can find the actual part number I can order the correct one.

Look here in the HP maintenance and service guide for your model:

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02834221

The actual HP part number is

    641136-001

    alternative numbers are DD0R15LC040 DD0R15LC030 DD0R15LC000 DD0R15LC050

It may be that the panel itself is damaged as the hinge is damaged, has it been dropped ?

What is the exact model number, please supply the code on the HP sticker after "product:" its normally 7 or 8 digits.

If you need a screen, try these folks:
