hi thanks in advance for any replys
I received the the charge issue date 19th January offence date 10th jan two camera shots of my reg number 18.38 and 22.41 and a charge of 100 pound I have read the sticky and copied and pasted included my name and address at the bottom.did this have to be sent within the 28 days from 10th January and can I just email appealyourcharge.co.uk as it states on the back of there "threatening charge form" !!
I did go into the wicks store and speak to a very rude manager who all he wanted to say repeatedly is read the back of the form it clearly says it all there ! I have spent thousands of pounds in that store but that's another story.

the paperwork will have the details on how and where you appeal

if the appeal fails (which it will) then its the IAS within 21 days for your subsequent appeal, which is also likely to fail as its a kangaroo court

I would complain strongly to the wickes CEO if I were you and demand a cancellation and also porovide proof of patronage too
  • Thanks Redx I didn't actually purchase anything on the day in question the wicks staff are normally a real good bunch but a lot of new staff there now I did get an email address from the manager of some new guy head of customer services but I did actually ask for MD name and contact details?
By the way what is a kangaroo court please.

try google for stuff you dont understand

they use a heads they win , tails you lose ideology from the get go by a biased legal person who remains anonymous

you are hung , drawn and quartered before they open the envelope (or email)

    guilty until proven innocent
  • Thanks
It's not possible to email G24 direct I had to use there web based appeal system it also won't allow you to paste direct so I used screen shot and attached three files hope it works thanks for the replys
  • I noticed that the charge on the PCN of 100 pound was different to the charge on there web form were it clearly stated it is 60 pound outstanding I did screen shot this as it is conflicting (for what it's worth)

The bad news is appealing is almost always futile. They will reject any appeal as will the "independent" appeal service they direct you to. It is worth appealing though as it will show how unreasonable they are.

The good news is that up to now G24 have been very reluctant to take anyone to court. They send out reams and reams of very scary letters from debt collectors that threaten all sorts. These letters tend to be like distant thunder though, they can make you panic but are really harmless.

The reason we suggest appealing is that the rejections sent out are often so absurd legally that they really wouldn't want a judge seeing them.
  • Nice one appreciate your comments Waamo I was at the panick stage earlier when I realised the date !! It's done now though I will have to take my fait and see what the muppets say. I have also emailed Wickes so I await there reply to.
  • I received email back from Wickes this morning and after a couple of emails he has got the charge quashed and says I will get written conformation from G24 he also says that there going to investigate the rude store manager.
So thanks to all that contribute to this site it really does help to know that good people give up there valuable time to help fight back at what is a unfair charge that we would otherwise have to pay for trying to support our local shops restaurants and businesses.
Thanks to all and good luck to all others.
