unprepared job agency call received

had a call from 'x' agency, apparently saw my CV on jobsite..

Asked if I was interested in / had experience of a vacancy, which was clearly covered by my CV.. methinks they didn't even read it..

Then they took forever, trying to find directions to (undisclosed) company, to see if easy to reach by public transport.. hamfisted is the best word I can think of, listening to the guy trying to navigate google maps..

I mean, really- how hard could that be??

I do hope their client hasn't agreed too much commission, and with 'dozens already submitted by them', I don't hold out much hope..
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)

I wouldnt really expect them to find directions or see how easy it was for you to get to. Every job I've had I've found all that out myself.

But it appears that the agency didn't tell the OP the name of the company when they called so how could they see if it was easy to get to?

The agency probably wouldn't want to disclose the name of the company concerned straight away in case any potential employees simply bypassed them and went straight to the company themselves.

Yea most agencies won't tell you the company as you can often apply direct and they lose their commission
