    I agree. When I have transferred DDs to another bank, the payee has effectively cancelled the DD in that it has disappeared from my DD list at the original bank
    A supplier can also reinstate a DD (cancelled by a payer with their bank) if they feel it is reasonable and necessary (but time limits do apply; I think it's 3 months)
    If the payer had cancelled the DD at his/her bank, couldn't this be reported as a fraudulent transaction unless the payee has given prior notice to the payer under the DD guarantee?
