My dad has an Acer AS X3810 desktop. The monitor has broken.
Will any monitor on the market be compatible with the desktop?
My apologies if this is a dense question. I'm getting better on techie stuff but still...!!

I ended up going for an LG 24" widescreen TV this week instead. Full 1080p for £90 in Argos (£99.99 but with voucher for £10 off over £100 spend) and it has a PC input (VGA only, not DVI) alongside Scart and HDMI.
Works just fine as a monitor with the added value of a TV tuner.
To answer your question though, any monitor will do, but just make sure that the inputs are VGA or HDMI, as those appear to be the only two options available on your PC.0 -
Your PC with HDMI/ VGA.
£100 24" LG TV is a good option.
Or you could get monitor with IPS panel..0 -

I'm not personally a fan of using TV's and find dedicated monitors give a far better result for PC work.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I second RumRat, in that I think a dedicated monitor is better than a tv.0

in what way has it broken, have you ruled out graphics card/software/cable/wiring/fuse/power supply issuesDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0

If you want a cheap yet cheerful replacement, I would get this Asus 22" monitor for £79.99 plus shipping. It's a great piece for the money and a quality brand.0
