I has a Lenovo for about 3 years in a job; it was never remarkable, I have to say.
I'd go for the Mac.
The inbuilt Mac email client is pretty good, and you can get M$ Office for it if you like.
(Indeed, you can even run Windows in a window on it if you buy Parallels or Fusion!)0
