BBC iPlayer/iPad query

I live in West Sussex but when I am watching breakfast news on my iPad, the local news always comes up from the London studio.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this to what should be my local news - Meridian please?

From that link "Please note that live streaming, known as ‘Simulcasting’, of 'Regions' programmes is not available via the iPlayer apps."
It's the same on BBC1HD via Virgin Cable - the only option is London news, have to switch to SD to get regional.
