Thanks, Ally.
I live close to one of those though not in the exact postcode area but took a chance and have been accepted :T
Today I am working from home as I have an iffy tummy.
Food has been very plain and from stores and I won't be going out today so should be a NSD BUT...
I hadn't realised quite how much I save on heating by going to work :rotfl:
Maybe it's because I'm under the weather or because my house is so badly insulated (draughty front door) or because the room I'm working in has no radiator but I have the heating on, socks and a cardi and I even put the oven (fan oven) on for 10 minutes with the door open to take off the chill. Now I've typed about the draughty front door I have reminded myself to go and lay a blanket down over the gap.
The cats are happy to have me home though and one is curled up on the desktop as I type and I've been able to cut out the clumps of fur under her armpits saving me a trip to the vet I guess.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Afternoon Campers,
Well, what a grey, dull uninspiring day......& on here we have poorly people, wobbly people, people who are freezing their backsides off sitting on their shop step......I don't know, we all need shaking up in a bag!
Uninspiring list to suit grey day:
*Checked to see if ebay buyer has paid. Nope!
*De-cluttered today's 10 items.
*Paid credit card bill in full (after deducing why it was £14-50 more than I had budgeted for. Sorted. Had forgotten to transfer some cash from the Presents Piggy).
*Did a few surveys.
*Chopped veg & made dough ready for tonight's pizza. Remaining dough will make rolls for rest of this week's packed lunches.
*Made loaf in bread machine.
*Made big pan of stew (rubber chicken strikes again! Also chucked in leftover roast veg & gravy from Sunday lunch).
*Froze remaining chicken stock I made yesterday.
*Turned 2 storage heaters down a notch. We are using significantly more energy than this time last year. I will make a few adjustments to things this week & see what Sunday's new readings look like.
*Downstairs heating off till at least 5pm.
*Did half-load of laundry overnight on Economy 7, which is now pegged out on the line. Ran heated airer overnight to finish off yesterday's washing. Washer on timer again for tonight. That will be the last load this week.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
Just got to finish a couple of things off, then I'm going to make a bucket of coffee & do a bit more work on my family history.
Maria - I had flu Jan last year. Like you, I hadn't had it for AGES.....not for 30 years! I had 1 week of feeling absolutely beyond dreadful. Could barely get off the couch, kept crying, fevers, then shivers....just vile. Then the 2nd week, I was able to do a few light things around the house, read, knit, concentrate on a film, that sort of thing, while the cough got better & I got my strength back. I do sympathize. I paid for a flu jab this time. I didn't want to risk feeling like that again. You should be turning a corner with it very soon x
Oh, got to rush....can hear cat destroying a chair.

Good! If you are accepted for the "Unaddressed Mail Surveys" it literally only takes two minutes per day for 3 weeks and then you get a High Street voucher. You just login to their system and type in how many bits of mail you received that day that didn't have your name on the envelope, like leaflets etc, save your entry and logout. That's it! A week later you automatically receive the voucher in the post.
If you do their other sending and receiving mail task for them you get paid in postage stamps, about £12s worth a time which you can legally sell on eBay really easily if you wish. (You have to sell them for what they are worth, not a penny more, or you're breaking the law, though.)

bottom is going numb sitting on a cold step so am going to get up and move about a bit.
As my mum would say... 'you'll get piles sitting on that cold step!'

Ha ha Von D. Piles of money obviously yes? That's fine.
Ally -hugs to you.
Foxgloves - I love your sayings. Was just wondering how we'd describe the contents of our bag. A jumble of money saving moaners?
Well I got lucky with my Talktalk appointment and same as with BT the day before the engineer arrived and was gone in about 10 mins. So I was free from my cold prison in only 2 hours Thank god.
Husband sourced a new tyre and inner tube for son so I walked to Catford to pick that up and have arranged to take the bike into our local shop to school to have the tyre put on. Which means today has cost £13 in tyre& inner tube plus £7 to the bike shop. But still cheaper than a weeks travel pass.
We just signed up for a free month of Netflix using my husbands email account (I've already had my month) & we've already filled our watch list with Better Call Saul and lots of lego ninjago stuff for son. So looking forward to tonight.
Oh and found a shiny £1 coin just now. Bonus.

I have rung Virgin and got my son's phone moved to an unlimited internet usage plan. It is only going to cost £3 more per month than his current plan and I can't even bring myself to tell you all how much it has been costing me every month when he went over his allowance. Suffice to say I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner  but at least I have done it now and not in another 10 months time, today is the first day of the rest of his phone contract etc. etc...Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Exactly how you have to look at it. We had similar with our ridiculous BT/Supanet debacle. BT started to double our bill from £40 to £80 a month when we began using Netflix. We thought we were on unlimited broadband but turns out I was wrong. So I was so angry I went running off to Supanet, who turned out to be dreadful. They didnt realise we are on a fibre box, and so only quoted for standard ADSL usage via a line. They also took from October to January to actually swap us onto their line.
I lost the plot when I found out that due to us not being on fibre with them, BT were still supplying us too. So in the end made the knee jerk decision to bin Supanet mid contract and defect back to BT fully. This is costing us £129 to sort out, plus a £50 reconnection fee to BT, & then the joyous stage of £40 a month for unlimited broadband and phone.
And collapse. Point is, if we hadnt been through all of this we'd never have known that we were better off where we were. :rotfl:" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
