Tuesday 10 February - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:money:

Hi Ziggy
Thank you for the kind comment. I have got out of bed this morning, but am heading right back there in about 2 minutes. Wow, flu is NOT fun. Not been ill like this in over 20 years. Really strangely debilitating.
On the upside, lots of no spending days etc and no desire to ever go out and shop again. Am utterly wiped out.
Been missing the thread and hoping everyone else is OK and doing their stuff. Hope to be feeling better soon, this is day 6 of hard core flu, and about 8 since the start. How long does flu last?
Speak in a few days probs.

Poor you Maria. Really sorry you are feeling so lousy. Keep drinking as much as you can that's all I can say. And keep warm.
Hi All
Well yesterday I was waiting at home for a bt engineer who gave me a 8 till 1 time slot. He came within 30 mins of the start and was done in 10mins. Nice £50 reconnection fee.
Today of course it won't go so well. Am sitting in my freezing cold shop waiting for Talktalk to come out and have the same time slot. Which means I had to set off from home at 7 to arrive in time. Have so far done an hours wait. Bored and cold.
Anyway! Husband and son managed to get a puncture riding son to school this morning (son's bike) so that needs sorting out. Not quite sure what our journey home will be like. We need to first find a bike shop that stocks the right tyre so husband can fix it, but if I don't pick the bikes up tonight and drag them the 4 miles home then it means it would take longer to do at some other point. Bah.
have packed lunch in case I'm not able to go home in between times today. And brought snacks for son's after school so that's money saving.
bottom is going numb sitting on a cold step so am going to get up and move about a bit.
have a good day all!

Afternoon DFW-Jedis,
Well, life goes on, as does the almost everlasting quest for solvency and sanity. Just a short list today as I'm a bit wobbly:
The List
:starmod: Check online banking and reconcile monies
:starmod: Do i-Say surveys.
:starmod: Turn off electric alarm clock at the wall til tonight.
:starmod: Have a home haircut.
:starmod: Washed the car at home by hand.
:starmod: Opened the wonky lock on the hut/shed by soaking it in WD40 for 24 hours. Replaced the padlock with a cheap one as the old one rattles; I think it is actually broken.
:starmod: Give myself a facial.
:starmod: Do Tesco Orchard.
