Link Charges on ATMs

Does anyone know how much a bank is paid when their ATM is used by another bank's customer?

I might be a few years out of date here but it was 14p for a high street location and 28p for a "remote" location (such as a retail park or supermarket).

I have to say that I was always under the impression that ATM owners would negotiate the interchange fee rather than there being a standard one, but as that was a business function and I was responsible for the IT side I never got involved in that so I could be wrong.

I was under this impression as well. Non UK cards (excluding American Express cards which are all LINK cards regardless the country of issue) are subject to the Visa, MasterCard, Discover/Diners etc. interchange rates.

I thought the LINK interchange fee was 28p for onsite and 40p for remote. The other card schemes were different.

If they surcharged, then they didn't get the LINK interchange fee.
