What's the best deal BarclayCard ever offered you?

I'm curious what offers people have given to BarclayCard (in regards to existing customer offers for BT's and money transfers). Every one they've offered me have been a pittance compared to all their standard offers, with my current offer being a 12 month balance transfer for a very cheap 3.9% /s

Figured they'd be trying to fish me in with offers since I hold a cashback card and always pay in full.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

33 months 0% Balance Transfer - £6500 available limit. At the time i was 21 with a capital one card with a limit of £800. Pretty happy with that as i see alot of people do not get the full 33 months with Barclaycard

They now email me very month offering me a 18 month 0% on any more balances i transfer and have increased my limit to £8500

BarclayCard are currently offering me a Balance Transfer offer with a 2.9% fee and 6.9% for the life of the balance.

I've only held the card since December (BarclayCard Initial) however.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

This month they're offering me a balance transfer from another card at 0% until 1st February 2016 with a transfer fee of 2.9%.

And money to my current account at 0% until 1st November 2015 with a 1.9% fee.

Last month (and for a few months previous to that) I was only offered a balance transfer from another card at 0% for six months.

At the moment Halifax is offering me 0% on balance transfers for nine months with no fee. Sadly, it's a Clarity card and as I'm abroad it's the only card I use significantly.

The best deal I got was transferring £2.5k to my bank account for 9 months and the fee was only £15 and usual 0 percent.
  • I was wondering about this. I've held my Barclaycard for 4 and a bit years (wow didn't realize it was that long!) I've never missed a payment, and have recently cleared the balance, because it has a £7,500 limit. Ideal for a balance transfer! BUT I can't even remember the last time, I was offered any *decent* rate to transfer a balance. I've had letters saying I could have one at 6.9% (i think maybe for the life of the balance).

I guess I wonder, if I don't use my card at all, will I start getting offers at better rates, to entice me to transfer to it? I've heard of some people ringing Barclaycard and requesting to cancel it, getting offered '£50 gestures' and the introductory rates!

Had mine since about August last year and have had 3 offers for 6 months 0% BT with a 1.9% fee - don't see the point personally as I want to pay off the amount I did a BT for not increase the balance - though I am perhaps a less common case as I got the BT card purely to buy a new bike and accessories and pay off over 33 months rather than being someone struggling to cope with high CC debt and using a BT to get breathing space :)

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

For those saying I'm surprised I don't get a better deal because I always pay in full, I think you'll find that credit card companies actually want you to spend on it so that they can charge interest and start making their money.

Prime example is I was at something like 1500 on my bcard a year or more ago, I started getting right with my money and paid off about 500 of it, as soon as that happened they immediately sent out a letter saying that theyve increased my limit and some other offers.
They don't want you to have 0 on the card, they want you to spend on it and then charge interest.
  • the deals I have had range from 6-12 months BT, and the same for money transfers.

at the moment is 0% BT until May 2016, 3.9% transfer fee, and 0% on money transfers until nov 2015, 1.9% fee.

Thing with that is, they only make minimal (whilst safe) profit from customers that pay in full, especially those of us with reward/cashback cards. You'd have thought they'd start giving you offers to entice you to carry a balance.

When I recently tried to phone up to "close" my account, they offered me £20 to stay, no rate offers or anything else. Of course I took it, as I had no intention of leaving :P
