Oh my, I was just trying to help!
TickersPlaysPop seemed disappointed not to find a political party worth voting for, so based on his comments ("theft from the masses", "unchecked capitalism", "landlordism" [what a nice term], "the young will rise", "a western spring is coming", "build homes for people, not profit", etc.) I nicely suggested one that might suit him.
I don't like communism, but anyone free to have his own opinions.
Perhaps visiting their website would at least help clarify the mind of those making such statements as the ones quoted above: If that's not 'communist' that's at least extremely left wing.
Where does the border lie? Should have I suggested the term 'socialist' instead.
Since the fall of the Eastern block the terms 'communist' and 'socialist' have had bad press so very few people want to call themselves that.
They use plenty of other terms but in the end what they advocate is still communism or socialism. I am not sure this is very clear in the mind of many.0 -
Thank you to all your posts...
It is possible for somebody to appear to be socialist on some aspects of life and the economy but not all.
Housing is such a fundamental requirement for life, and it has a huge effect on society if we have a generation many of whom will be forced to rent for life.
Homes should not be treated like a simple commodity for people to profit from in the excess. Residential Property Inflation in line with wage inflation would be sustainable and fit for purpose.
It is not being socialist ..... it is being humane and moral to not deliberately make it a scare resource for the few to profit from while the rest suffer a steady decline in housing quality and hand over their future prosperity ( home ownership) in the form of rent to those very wealthy few.
It is successive governments fault and is further proof that we do not have a democracy, free press , fair banking system that serves or represents the people.... big business has far too much control.Peace.0 -

Or as Fidel Castro once put it, "I am not a Communist, nor do I agree with Communism".0 -

Well, it's thinking that socialist principles would manage housing best.
If they would do that, they would probably do the same in other areas, and so on.
As I said earlier, it seems that quite a few people do not really understand (or don't want to) what term means.0
