Minster Baywatch - Advice Please!

Apologies for being a newbie and possibly a bit thick but I could really do with some advice in striking off a PCN I got back in October.

I parked in a car-park shared by a Casino & Skating rink. There are signs saying that the central bays are reserved for Casino users, and only the bays on the edges are for general use. As far as I am concerned, I was parked in a bay around the edge but nonetheless received a ticket for parking in the 'wrong' place.

I found and followed the advice in the Newbies thread as well as the walk-through provided by Umkomaas in another thread, and sent a First Appeal letter using the template in the newbies thread, giving them 35 days to respond.

The letter was dated 05/12/14, and the 35 days would've been up 09/01/15. This date came and went with no response, and I assumed all was well again, however today (09/02/15) I have had a letter from Debt Recovery Plus giving me until 17/02 to pay up. I've never had an acknowledgement of my letter to them, nor a POPLA Code

I can see from the walk-through that the advice is to email complaints to both the BPA & DVLA, but is there any advice on what to say to them exactly? Should I write back to Minster Baywatch and/or Debt Recovery Plus too?

Many thanks in advance for any help

Well done for reading and following advice:-) It's the ppc's who don't, as you've found out.
MB logo shows them as BPA Members, so complain urgently to Steve at BPA and DVLA copy MB in, as you're expecting.

    Here:
    http://www.minsterbaywatch.co.uk/services/parking-enforcement
they say 'and appeals are accepted in writing.'.

Do tell us you retained your proof of posting.

Just a brief cover note, setting out dates, copy of letter, copy of posting proof, DEMANDING popla code[which you'll check is valid http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/popla-code-checker.html].

    Very good so far!

ignore DRP - DRP = Dont Respond - Period !

complain to the BPA that your appeal went unanswered and now DRP are harassing you , give them a copy of the appeal letter, date and any proof you sent it

complain to the DVLA that you are now being harassed over data they supplied and you have not been given your chance to appeal

NEVER assume all is well, not until 6 years have passed !
  • just checked and I can't find my proof of postage, is that a big problem? massive thanks for speedy replies

It's a big help, but your original letter will do at a pinch.
    They can't prove a negative.
    Get those complaints straight in.

  • Just a thought - the template message mentions pursuing the parking company for my costs if they proceed, should I actually do this now? Has anyone ever done so and been successful?
