Paypal Limited??

Hi everyone, I received the email below this morning supposedly from PayPal, it went into my junk mail and the PayPal emails normally don't is it something to be concerned about? I buy an awful lot from Ebay so don't really want my account limited but I'm not convinced that this email is genuine - would anyone have any ideas?


Dear PayPal member:

Warning! Your PayPal account has been limited! As part of our
security measures, we proceed regularly screen activity to
learn PayPal recently contacted you after having identified
a problem on your Account.

We demand information from you for following reason:

- Our system detected unusual charges to a card credit linked to your PayPal account.

To update your PROFILE please DOWNLOAD and FILL the FORM attached to this mail.

We are sorry for this inconvenience.

It's just a phishing email, sent to spoof@paypal.com and delete.

I get them all the time to an address that has no connection with my paypal account, don't click on anything in the email.

Phew, thanks Steviebabes I have sent it to them - lucky I didn't download the form or send any details! It just didn't look right

Just log onto your paypal account.
Any outstanding issues are always flagged anyway.
I got a similar mail and logged onto paypal.
I WAS asked to amend my password so it is possible you have a genuine mail.
I also had a couple of out of date credit cards.

Paypal e-mails such as this would always be addressed to you personally. The fact they are addressed to "PayPal Member" is always a dead give away.

that is a very obvious phishing mail and it should be second nature to you to either ignore such mails or check by logging in through a clean log in. We can beat these scumbag hackers , but we must educate ourselves to avoid falling for something fake.

As for wedding bits- I had a great time last year sourcing bits and bobs from all over the world for my son and daughter in laws wedding. It wasn't until I went into a high street bridal shop to get something that I realised just how cheap eBay was and how much choice there was.

I don't usually fall for them but I did recently make a rather unusual purchase (a chainsaw!) so I did have a moment and thought I had better check it out, luckily you guys stopped me clicking through!


I had a look round lots of shops and had a wonderful time but completely agree that it all costs far too much! Found a completely gorgeous brooch bouquet on Ebay that I can't wait to use - roll on December!
