We have agreed to purchase a flat and it is all going through ok.
The solicitor has the mortgage offer and the sellers paperwork just waiting for the searches to be finished.
would it be ok at this stage to go back to the estate agent and ask for another look just to check curtain sizes etc.
thanks

perfectly reasonable, it also shows the seller you are serious, why not take a csera and ASK if you can taker a few pics to show your parents etc and you can start planning colour schemes and furniture based on the current floor coverings and room decoration.
planning what youre going to do and when is fun !0 -

Absolutely and sometimes it's very hard to remember everything about the property if you've only had a couple of viewings before you make an offer, so it's a good thing to get a feel of the place before you complete.
Obviously, you wouldn't want to keep going round there, but your request to measure up etc. is quite reasonable.A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -
Hang on a minute....
Are you going round just to measure the curtains, or are you having second thoughts?
If it is just to measure the curtains then I would wait until after exchange.
If you go beforehand, the vendors MAY think you are having second thoughts, and if they have had better offers that they have turned down out of a sense of loyalty to you, they MAY just decide to pull out at this stage and sell to someone else.
We only went round after exchange to 'measure up'. All our normal 'measuring up' was done at second viewing, prior to putting in an offer.
IF you are having second thoughts then of course make an appointment and go round, and if you change your mind then pull out, but bear in mind it may give the vendors jitters.....20 plus years as a mortgage adviser for Halifax (have now retired), and I have pretty much seen it all....:D0 -
Thanks for the replies no we are not thinking of pulling out it realy is just to have another look. The seller is also offering to leave the washing machine for £50 so we want to see it0

Exactly! A visit or two to measure up is fine, but remember that until you get the keys, it's their house rather than yours, so be prepared to fit around their availability, rather than the other way around - calling unannounced and expecting them to let you in there and then may not be on....0
