I have the family pack on Sky with Sport and Films added too.
I dont have any of the extra HD channels.
I can watch progs on Channel 170 in 3D fine but for some reason the films wont play. When a film comes on I get blue creen and a message saying I am not on the right package.
However the other 3D programs play fine. Its just the films that wont.
Why not?

Good question. I always assumed that you needed the film package to see them, but obviously not.0

You need to have Sky Movies to play them.0

Are you looking at the Pay Per View films on Sky 3D?
I watched Angelina Jolie as the Fairy in 3D last week no problem."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I have Sky Movies added to my family package.
Other programmes on Channel 170 play fine but the films do not play - a blue screen suggests I need to subscribe.
Is this right?0 -
Because you don't have the HD subscription for Sky Movies.0

Aye it'll be the HD thing.
IIRC for modern "3D" you need to have a HD set, and a HD signal with the right encoding for it to work,
If you don't have a HD sub then 3D won't work because it relies on the HD systems (IIRC modern 3D is based on an extension of the HD specifications for encoding, transmission and display).0 -

You have the family bundle. The family bundle includes HD for entertainment channels.
You need to pay extra for HD Movies and Sports and you need HD pack for movies to watch Sky Movies in 3D.
The requirements are outlined on this page: http://www.sky.com/products/ways-to-watch/sky-3d/facts/
Note: For blockbusters and a selection of sports events in 3D, add Sky Sports, Sky Movies and the HD Pack.0 -
Pay up, somebody has to reimburse Rupert for the money he's paying the Premier League :beer:0
