    I could cry

Firstly my Debt has gone up by £50 !! to £ 3, 349 I knew I should have cut up that credit card.

    Vy - 1401.67 - Min pay £56.28
    BC - 925 - Min pay £20.88
    C1 - 248.68 - Min pay £19.04
    AL - 773 - Min pay £68.52

and I need to take out a loan of approx. 2k (don't ask today is quite possibly one of the worst days ever)

so my total outstanding debt may well be up to £5326

I suppose I could look on the bright side I am back to where I started but had I not started I would be nearer 7.5 k and growing.

Looks like I will be doing a new SOA if I get approved for the loan, I have worked out Monthly repayments tho and added to my other debts so looking at Paying back £260 a month on repayments as a minimum which is quite scary.

I need to make serious changes to my life when I make a decision on what I am going to do with it ..lol

Checking all finances before I apply and then I will look at the stability or lack of stability in my life.

Fingers crossed I will find a way

    Hi Sam

Sounds like you need a (hug) and some :coffee: and cake. Purring moggy also very happy to visit you for furry cuddle company.

Sorry to hear you need the loan - have you thought of checking if you could use a 0% card instead to save on interest and fees? Or is that not doable with your current cards?

I think there's still some bright sides you should keep in mind...
    • you have reduced your debt from when you started
    • you're learning how to manage your money properly which will make a difference to the whole of the rest of your life (never mind the little wobbles, that's part of the learning process and we've all been there)
    • you are in a better place to deal with the present shock that you would have been otherwise
    • because you've started thinking about the money situation, you're recognising the things you want to change in the rest of your life.

Post up anything we can help with.

  • Thanks so much Rosa for your kind words. :A

On top of the 2k bad day I also have a friend who is terminally ill and I need to make huge decisions.:(

I would like to pay my rent in advance by at least a month or two and pay my debt commitments a few months in advance too so allow me to take the time out of work to spend together and be the main carer.

My employer may consider part time working and relocation as we live about about 5 hrs away from each other. This would be good as my friend can be cared for a couple of days a week to free me up to work.

My friend has suggested I give up my rented place to allow me to do this as I would be living there.

If I could work part time I could maintain / cover my debts and rent but I am worried that the money I will waste on rent if I don't live there for three months could cover my debts and giving me the breathing space needed at a very difficult time.

I am also worried that if I defaulted /or had late payments I may not be able to rent for a while or have to pay 6 months rent in advance on a new place which I cant afford to do.

This may not suit my employer as I don't have the type of job where I could take a sabbatical to be honest plus am behind with work due to its fast pace style of work so my cover could end up stabbing me in the back to get my job!

I have another really good friend who says if I give up my flat and have to give up my job if needed after my friend dies I can lodge with them until I get back on my feet.

I feel under immense pressure so its hard to think at the moment.

I don't know whether to give up my job and take my holiday pay which would effectively buy me and extra two months .

All I know is this person is important to me and I would like to be with them in their time of need but I am concerned about defaulting on my debts and having no where to live and as with all best laid plans I don't know how work ready I will feel after they pass away.

We will find out in the next few days how long is left approximately.

I just don't know what to do as this is huge.... we are hoping for 5 months life left but we have been warned today that it is likely to be three max. so 90 days to make plans and evaluate my life

  • Didn't want to read and run.. What an enormous thing to think about. Well done on you for wanting to be there for your friend, but the consequences have to be thought through very carefully. I'll ponder and post more later (hugs) x
