Belfast Ferry?

Does anyone know of any places to get cheap ferry transport to Belfast with a car? We will be leaving London anytime between late evening 15th November to early morning 16th November and would want to be in Belfast by late 16th at the latest. The best I have found is around £198 Stranraer - Belfast with Stena Line (it is for 3 people). Is this likely to be the best we can get. It doesn't matter where we leave(or even arrive) as we will have the car. It is a road trip so flights aren't an option.
I've been searching all afternoon and not getting very far!

If you are prepared to put up with an 8 hour daytime sailing then Birkenhead to Belfast might be an option at £75 each way for a car and 3 adults.

That looks like an option, thanks!0

Going from London to Stranraer is a bloody long journey, and in my opinion, you would be better getting the vomit comet from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire, near Dublin,it takes less than 2 hours, and then driving up,although the fares are more expensive.

Ken.
Would I need a passport for that?0 -
No. When travelling between the UK and Ireland, you do need ID, but not necessarily a passport.0

I've changed my mind over the possibility of flying. Thinking of getting a hire car and leaving it in London, flying to Belfast than flying back to Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen area).
Does anyone know the best sites to look for deals on this and what airports would be cheapest to fly to/from.
London - Northern Ireland - Scotland
Also while I'm asking can anyone recommend decent hotels/hostels in Belfast. We'll probably just go for the cheapest on travelsupermarket but any recommendations would be welcomed!0 -
