Hi all... Recieved my letters from the FO confirming they've written to MBNA. I should recieve letters back shortly off MBNA and their insurers.

Don't know how long they will take to get back to me exactly? but shortly could be a couple of weeks....

Wheels are in motion... Fingers crossed it goes well.

Will keep you updated on progress as and when I recieve correspondents off them.

    That's good news. Good luck!

Hi all! Had two letters arrive yesterday, one off MBNA and the other off London & Edinburgh. Both acknowledging the FO correspondents. L&E will be intouch within 10 days, and MBNA by the 10th Sep.

Anybody been through this before, who can advise how step will go?

    Thanks

    Bumpbump....

Hi all, well i've had another letter off MBNA today, stating the same as before, that they will be intouch by the 10th Sept.

They also have given me a number for my "customer advocate". Pity they couldn't give me this in the first place a few years ago! Those customer service operators are a b*$*&"d to get past.

Well it's been a while. After getting an offer of £144 off mbna I contacted them. As the charges only apply to 18months of the claim(the rest over 6 year limit) I haggled about and got that raised to £400, I've settled at that as it clears the balance off now, as I have been making regular payments for the last 4 years there were no other charges since the time of my PPI claim. I'm just glad it's been cleared up and I have one less bill to now think about.

    Thanks all for listening.

Think if it was me I would have stuck out for all of it.

But then I know about as much as you do on these issues.

I would have at least gone back to Consumer Credit Counselling service and asked their advice.
