Hi there
There's an interesting talk I've listened to online and they've emailed me a link which is only valid for 2 weeks and I was wondering is there any way I can record and save this talk to my computer?
It lasts 90 mins and I'd love to be able to save it so I can listen to it again?
Thanks
sunni

What sort of file is it? Can you share the link?0

I've used soundtap streaming audio recorder in the past - free download

Make sure you untick all the other stuff it tries to add to the install though0 -
Thanks everyone I will check that out now. It's just a live webcast I'd love to listen to again and hopefully this will record it for me0

Or you could tell us what sort of file it is, or give us the link, so we could maybe suggest a free way of doing it rather than a 'free' demo of a payware product?0

tried playing the link and recording via real player?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
You can record ANY audio that comes out of your computer speakers by using free audio software "Audacity" http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
and by using a stereo 3.5mm jack cable.

Both ends of the cable look the same. Put one end in the headphone/speakers socket and one end in the microphone socket.
Then in "Recording" in Audacity select "Stereo Mix" then you can record any audio that you play on your computer. (Of course you won't be able to hear it while you are recording it, because the speakers/headphone socket will be connected internally to Audacity.)Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?0 -
I've used Audacity before, I didn't think the back to back cable was required though. Mine's currently set to "Wave Out Mix", which I think means it records the sound card output, though I haven't recorded anything for a long time so cannot be sure.0

I use Audacity, no cables required just the setting to record with the option: "what you hear".0

the free version of BB FlashBack Express is good, but as with all you need to play with it a bit beforehand
