Halifax Clarity appeal success

I think it is the LBG computer that causes the problems as opposed to Halifax. I applied last December for a Halifax CC and was rejected despite being good enough for an overdraft facility (unused in 3 years) and having had a loan with them and always maintained at least a £300 balance in my Reward Current Account.
So I appealed the decision and was successful in it getting a £3k limit and a 16 month 0% purchases deal. After 6 months of using the card and repaying in full each month they slashed my limit to £600 overnight. I wrote a letter of complaint and received a phone call within 48 hours. They agreed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the way I had operated my accounts with them and nothing negative on my credit file.
I received an apology, the underwriters blamed the computer for the decrease and they reinstated my limit of £3k straight away. So it seems to me that the LBG computer system seems to get a lot of decisions wrong. It also confirms for me that whilst computers are necessary in 2015, sometimes things should be looked at by people before decisions are actually made.0 -
