i started at age 3. There is Feish (sp) and Festival dancing. Im not sure of the technical differences but its easier to win trophies in festival dancing as they give more out and they also do more team dances. in fact i did feish and only ever did one team dance in my life lol and i danced for 9 or 10 years.

The DDs' dance teacher reckoned about 7. That said, they had both had a good grounding in ballet from the age of 3 and tap from about 4. They changed their mind before they had even tried it, so sorry, I can't tell you anyrhing about the types or styles.
