  • Me too!! I always transfer no more than £5 to a new contact and make jolly sure it's gone through okay.

I am paranoid and the thought of transferring thousands of pounds through cyber space never to be seen again frightens the life out of me!!;)

If you want to check with an initial small transfer, you can actually just go for 1p.

    Me Too!

Although I don't think it's paranoid, but sensible.

I remember when I set up my Paypal account a long time ago, they use to have as a verification procedure where they transferred a penny to your bank account which you then had to report back to ensure the account was set up properly.

If it's good enough for one the largest internet companies on the planet, then it's good enough for me!

Not quite, it was a random figure of between say 1p and 10p, and you had to tell them the amount they transferred.

Because there is someone at the bank whose job it is to check all transfers and to judge the people who made them...

You guys and your large authorised overdrafts!
  • anyway, the rule here is just to transfer a 'small sum',, whatever you can afford to lose...

    The rest is academic..
