Problems installing Chrome on Windows 8.1

Hi, I am having problems installing Chrome on Windows 8.1 laptop. It just doesn't happen, even though it appears to complete the install. Does anyone have any advice?

My Chrome stopped working on my 8.1 and there is an issue regarding Silverlight that I can't resolve so can't watch Nowtv on the PC.
Internet explorer wont allow full screen on the catchup players.
Windows 8.1 is utter !!!!.
I'm having to do all the above through the playstation 3. It does it all without any fuss.0 -
Are you installing the correct version, 32 or 64 bit?0
