Hi there,
Myself and my Daughter hope to visit Bergamo, Italy for a weekend.
Can anyone advise on the following, are the Shops open on Sunday and are there any street markets selling clothing at weekends.
We like to see the sites and love Italian food.As we only have a few days we would appreciate advise, Also good value hotels in Bergamo.
Hope you can help. Thanks,

I was in Bergamo a few years back and really liked it. Can't answer your question about the shopping, but that shouls be easy enough to find out. In Europe though lots of things are clsoed on Sundays so I'm not very hopeful for you on that. We found a fab restaurant though - Pizzeria Capri Da Nasti, it's near the Coin department store in the lower town. We ended up going there all 3 nights it was so good! A few years later I was talking to a couple of colleagues who had both been. Turns out we all stayed at the same hotel (Best Western) and one of them had used that same restaurant too - which is very busy with locals apparently. The other girl in work who hadn't been there was back last year and found the restaurant!
Enjoy your trip, Bergamo is lovely! If you get bored you can even take a side trip to Garda on the train, via Breschia which is also lovely!0 -
A quick Goodle throws up the opening hours for Coin in Bergamo.

I've been to Bergamo, really nice place. Got out to Lake Como and Garda too.
We stayed at Star Hotel Cristallo Palace, agood hotel not too far from the main area / train station.
And we had some really nice pasta around the corner, here - Ristorante Pasta e Basta, Via San Giovanni Bosco.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -
Thank you all for the feedback on the shopping , Hotels and restaurants. The Coin store is opened on Sunday, so hopefully the other shops will be open as well.
Thanks again everybody.0
